March 9 2023 Stage 2 Due - Stage 3 Start Issues Paper

Stage 2: Search for Sources & Preparing An Annotated Bibliography

DUE TODAY!!! FINAL DUE DATE MONDAY!

What is an annotated bibliography?

It is - a list of your 5 references (from the 5

sources/articles you have selected from BC Digital

Classroom.

*Remember - Mr. Wilson went over - how to highlight articles and THEN - how to create (automatically) your bibliography? If not - no worries - I will be having him re-review this today in the library for you as well!

This is a research essay. Your opinion (thesis) must be supported with evidence. Thus you must consult CREDIBLE, ACCURATE & RELIABLE sources of information such as: online newspapers, interviews, websites, documentaries, books, etc . . . . E.g. BC Digital Classroom (as linked and noted below).

Remember - to research possible issues go to:

Revelstoke Secondary School Website >

Students & Parents >

BC Digital Classroom >

Search - Global Issues in Context Grades 8-12

Again - myself and or Mr. Wilson will re-review with you how to create a bibliography.

  • Step 1: Document each source according to Chicago Style. Remember BC Digital Classroom does this for you!
  • Step 2:
  • You will then:

  • read through the source and highlight/make notes/write down (annotate) information which will be helpful to you. For example: note the maps, images, quotes, chapters, drawings etc., included in the source.

  • Include the biases, topics addressed, quality of the source.

These notes are to save YOU time in your research so make notes that will help you be most efficient. They act as a reminder of what is in that source when/if you consult it again. You must annotate (make a few notes on a min of 5 sources.)

Remember - BC Digital Classroom allows for you to highlight and create notes. It also allows for you to save your notes to your OneDrive! (And then download and upload easily to Teams! Stage 2 and 3).

Final Note: You can use the paper graphic organizer (if you would like) and then take a picture of that and upload it to Teams if you would like - however, for Stage 2 I would recommend the BC Digital Classroom Bibliography Download option (EASIEST!)

FYI - Stage 3 - Notes! Is live in Teams now for you as well (if you are working ahead).
